BHOS hosts event dedicated to September 27 – Remembrance Day

The Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS) of SOCAR hosted an event dedicated to September 27 – Remembrance Day.

The memorial event began with the playing of the National Anthem, followed by a minute of silence in memory of our heroic martyrs.

Speaking at the event, BHOS Vice-Rector for General Affairs Babek Mammadov noted that the 44-day Patriotic War, which began on September 27, became a turning point in the history of Azerbaijan.

“As a result of this war, our heroic army, led by Supreme Commander-in-Chief, President Ilham Aliyev liberated our lands, which had been under occupation for almost 30 years. September 27 will forever remain in the memory of our people as a day that combines sadness and pride. The 44-day Patriotic War became a triumph of the national unity of our people, the power of our state and the heroism of our army. This historic victory, achieved at the cost of the blood and lives of our soldiers and officers, demonstrated to the entire world the will of the Azerbaijani people.”

In his speech, Head of Business Administration Department, Associate Professor Altay Ismayilov emphasized the importance of raising the younger generation in the spirit of patriotism. He said that the victory achieved in the Patriotic War was not only a military triumph, but also a triumph of the national spirit and ideas of statehood, and that instilling these values ​​in young people is of great importance for our future.

Then, Jasur Aliyev, a second-year student of the Business Administration specialty, gave a presentation about our heroic history. Addressing the students, he said that it is our duty as the younger generation to study this history deeply and maintain the spirit of patriotism.
